Georgia HIMSS Clinical Informatics Committee
Clinical Informatics Group Mission and Objectives:
The primary mission of the GA HIMSS Clinical Informatics Committee is to provide critical networking and educational opportunities that enhance the practice of clinical informatics on both a local and national level. Integration and active involvement with other HIT professionals is also maximized.
Objectives:
- To provide an opportunity for sharing information, view points and experiences with other Clinical Informaticists
- To provide structured educational opportunities of interest to Clinical Informaticists
- To provide opportunities for Clinical Informaticists to actively participate in HIMSS Society activities and collaborate with other HIT professionals
- To identify areas of special interest to Clinical Informaticists and facilitate the emergence of these topics within the HIT arena
- To support current professional initiatives that includes research and development within the field of Clinical Informatics
- To effectively communicate with and support the initiatives and efforts of other Clinical Informatics organizations
- To diversify the Georgia HIMSS membership to include more clinicians, including nurses.

Clinical Informatics Committee Membership Fee:
There is no fee for current HIMSS Members. For those interested in participating in the Clinical Informatics Committee of Georgia HIMSS, the fee would be membership in HIMSS National and/or the Georgia Chapter of HIMSS. National membership is $140 annually, and automatically includes membership in a local chapter. You may choose to instead only join the Georgia Chapter of HIMSS for $30.
