The Georgia Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (http://www.gahimss.org), provides Georgia's healthcare professionals with outstanding educational conferences, networking opportunities, and a forum for the interchange of ideas among those committed to the goal of improving patient care through the effective use of information technology. Membership is not required to attend educational conferences, and national membership is not required to join the Georgia chapter. GA HIMSS members come from diverse backgrounds all involved in some aspect of health care information systems and management. Members include physicians, nurses and other clinicians, information services executives, project managers, administrators, and consultants. Many are the key leaders and decision-makers in their respective institutions throughout the state of Georgia.
What is our purpose?
- To plan and conduct educational programs that promote an understanding of healthcare information and management systems, processes and technologies;
- To provide members opportunities to share ideas and exchange experiences in the field of healthcare information and management systems through meetings and networking events
- To assist members of this Chapter and others in developing their knowledge, increasing their effectiveness, and maintaining high-quality standards of performance through continuing education
During a typical year, we offer 4-5 educational programs either half-day or all-day. Attendance ranges from 75-200+ depending on the topic and venue. Our educational programs are designed to share expert knowledge and to facilitate networking among our members.

- Weekend Immersion in Nursing Informatics (WINI) April 16 -18, 2010 location TBD

- Sponsor recognition at the chapter reception during the HIMSS Annual Conference

Event - $TBD
- Sponsorship of an individual program. The fees will vary depending on the size of the event but will be designed to cover the majority of the event cost
- Program Develop and provision of speakers (Program must be approved in advance by GA HIMSS)
- 2 complimentary admissions to the event in addition to any speakers
- Logo on program of sponsored event
- Company and product handouts at the event
